I´ve nothing to say but: Rest in peace...

Skiathos...

Last monday we were left alone with our two grandchildren by our daughter and son in law. They just said: - Sorry, we have to leave for Skiathos early tomorrow morning.
- Why?
- Vacation, what else...?
- For how long?
- A week or so...?
- OK...
Really, it wasn´t that dramatic. We were already prepared...

Skiathos seems like a beautiful island! As a matter of fact I´ve never heard of the place before. Inspite of my previous experiences. On the other hand, who can blame me? In Greece there are thousands of islands!
Their hotel entrance doesn´t look that bad.
They are travelling together with their two best friends and neighbours. One of them is a bit scared of flying.
The runway at Skiathos is just about 1588 meters long and you are allowed to, surprisingly enough in these times, stand very near the threshold with all landing aircrafts a few meters over your head.
And the Island is just a little bit bigger. However, the airport name is longer: Skiathos Alexandros Papadiamandidis Airport...

Pet Airways...

According to Dagens Nyheter - and others - it seems that Pet Airways are taking off.
Here´s their logo.

I don´t know what to think about this project - yet...

So - for now, I leave the thinking to others...

Midsommar...

Till midsommaren tillhör svensk färskpotatis. Ett antal potatisrensare hade anlitats. Närmare bestämt två. Vi andra tittade endast på. Efter den goda sillen, potatisen och allt annat, vidtog obligatoriska lekar. Bara på skoj...

I vassen lurade kameramannen som tog vassa bilder när ingen anade något...

Josefine var lite kaxig, som vanligt...

Under tiden höll jag en låg profil...

...trots att det samtidigt fanns gott om vackra flickor i närheten...

Min kära hustru tillvaratog möjligheten och fångade en vacker pojke...

Tänk - vad hade hänt, om jag också tog tillvara alla tillfällen som verkligen finns?

Något annat är ju osannolikt...

Happy Birthday dear...

The day before yesterday, our daughter Alexandra celebrated her 28th birthday. Twentyeight years...? Was it that long ago she first met this world...?
Again - time flies!
Our five (!) year old grandson went scary with his rubber sword.

Out of the carwindow, on our way home, we watched this beautiful sunset.

Manhattan...

Läste Dagens Nyheter i söndags. Där fanns ett drinkrecept inför midsommar. Detta skall tydligen vara en svensk variant av den klassiska Manhattan.

"LARSHATTAN. Ta vara på trädgårdens bär och gör en fruktig cocktail. Här är en svensk variant på klassikern Manhattan."

Enligt tipset tar ett glas fem minuter att färdigställa.

"5 cl mörk rom, 1 cl körsbärslikör, 1 cocktailkörsbär, is"

Tydliga instruktioner ingår.

"1. Häll i rom, likör och is i en shaker. Rör tills det är riktigt kallt.
2. Sila upp i ett cocktailglas och granera med ett körsbär."

SUCK! Hoppas bara att 08-orna inte döpt den efter mig...

Sometimes I have a problem with understanding different cultures. This is such a time...

Sjung om studentens...

Hon anlände så hem i ett muller av en gammal V8:a, ackompanjerad av ett strilande regn och vänners glada rop.

Efter urlastning och uppfällning av blöt cabriolet försvann chauffören hastigt i regnet, med cigaretten hängande ur mungipan. Förmodligen på väg mot nya uppgifter...

Josefine, lika blöt och glad som alla närvarande gäster. Och - med all rätt! Här serverades fantastiska Raspberry Mojitos, gjorda med känsla och kreativitet.

Då och då lyckades en och annan glad människa fastna på bild. I detta fall är det Fredrika som senare framträdde med gitarr och sång till sin syster. Jag lovar, inte många ögon var helt torra...

Detta är den enda bild jag lyckades få på värdparet tillsammans. Med dryga sextiotalet gäster vore det konstigt om man hade funnits på samma ställe en längre stund.

Ja, vilken kväll! Så många trevliga människor och många som vi aldrig träffat förr. Och - mat & dryck, icke minst! Här fanns ju allt för alla smakriktningar.

Ann & Richard, stort Tack för att Nina och jag vi fick vara med och dela allt detta med er alla!

My wife brought a small ad in the local paper to my attention. Actors needed. I´m not an actor. However I got curious and sent an e-mail with some questions. And got a reply that got me even more curious. So - today I was participating in the recording of a film documentary. I met amazing people that I´d never met before. But most important, I learned a lot today.
I´m not sleeping in the picture, just listening and learning...

I went to vote today. Crowded with people in the sudden rain...

Celebration or...

Idag är det Sveriges Nationaldag.
Tidigare var den lätt att glömma bort. Men - nu är det helgdag och dessutom lördag. Detta fenomen gör mig lite irriterad. Helgdag innebär ingen tidning! Vilket man oftast inte noterar förrän man redan stapplat de 39 stegen ut till brevlådan och mumlar "visst f--n!" Igen.

Men - denna morgon för 65 år sedan fanns det väldigt många människor som hade betydligt mera att tänka på än att hämta tidningen...
